Monster Galaxy New Battle System

From the Developers:

Hi Moga Tamers! A Battle System and Game Balance is now live! This changes all the Mogas battle stats.

EDIT: When this change was pushed, some of your Mogas might have gained Maximum health, without an increase in minimum health. We are actively working to adress this and your mogas shouldbe updated shortly.

We're calling this "Moga Battles 2.0", as we have made a number of changes to make battles much more dynamic and fun, including upgraded Moga stats, improved attacks and animations, and a much larger variety of Mogas. We'll be constantly tweaking and refining the game, fixing bugs, and adding new features... this is just one more step towards making Monster Galaxy the best game it can be!

Read below for more of the explanation behind these exciting changes:

When we first launched Monster Galaxy back in December, we put in a pretty basic set of stats for each of the Mogas to determine how well they fare in battles. We considered this to be a "prototype" version - it basically worked, but we knew there was room for improvement.

Now that Monster Galaxy has been played by millions of people and we've gotten so much great feedback from all our beta testers, we're ready to move forward to Version 2 of the Moga battle system.

Here are some of the problems we've identified that we're trying like to address:
* Mogas that are more difficult the capture (i.e. more rare) should be a bit better than more common Mogas
* There wasn't enough variety/diversity between different Mogas (e.g. two Mogas at the same level have similar HP)
* Attack stats (physical damage, zodiac damage, accuracy, etc...) weren't governed by a consistent set of rules that made it clear which Moga will be better in different situations... as a result, players didn't have enough opportunity to make an informed choice about how to approach battles.

Here are the two most major changes we're making:
* We're introducing the concept of "Classes"! Mogas will be one of three classes: Striker (i.e. Attacker), Balanced, or Tank (i.e. Defender). As you'd expect, Strikers do more damage but have less HP, while Tanks have more HP but do less damage.
* Mogas that are more rare will be a bit more powerful (do more damage and have more HP.) So, if you are able to capture an Epic or Legendary moga, it will have more HP and do more damage than a common Moga. The difference is not overpowering, but may be just enough to make all the difference in a tough battle.
* The attack animations have been upgraded, so now all the battles are much more exciting and interesting. As your Moga gets more powerful and higher in level, you will continue to gain better and better attacks which both look cooler and do more damage!

There are also many other minor changes to make the game more balanced and make battles "make more sense". Some highlights among these changes:
* Bonus Attacks will no longer depend on the attack power of your current Moga, but will instead be depend solely on the level of your current Moga. This helps level the playing field, so that it is always the right choice to use a whistle and call in friends for help!
* The HP of all Mogas has been significantly increased... in fact, all the numbers will simply be larger! This lets the developers create more variety between the Mogas.
* Physical Attacks will do more damage than they used to.
* And more!

Please let us know if you have any other feedback on the Moga battle stats and how we can improve. While we're really excited about this new set of changes and confident it will improve battles, we're always looking to make the game more fun! Let's work together to build the best game on Facebook.

Thanks!

=============
May 4th UPDATE from Developers: These changes are now LIVE!!

We've been reading the feedback, and want to assure everyone that we took all your responses into account in setting the current values. As always, we have more features in development which will continue to improve the battle system, including ways to upgrade specific Mogas to make any Moga you choose become more powerful, so don't worry - there's no wrong way to play. We hope you enjoy the Battle 2.0 changes and continue to enjoy Monster Galaxy!

News from Developers - Testing new Moga capturing features (Master Seed)

poker game, educational games, Game Tricks, Game Hints, Game tips, video games, computer games, Video Games, Computer Games, free internet poker games, online poker games, online game rental,
We're testing some new features right now in regards to using starseeds and capturing Mogas. These features are currently only available for half the players. The changes are as follows:

(1) We have added the "Master Seed" feature, a way you can guarantee a 100% capture rate. You can purchase the Master Seed by paying with Star Coins. (FB Credits)
(2) New Game Balance: You are only able to capture Mogas using Starseeds if they are the same level as your moga (or below). This rule is only for Starseeds, not the Master Seed.

A brief FAQ:

Q: What is the Master Seed?

A: Master Seed is a new feature we introduced in response to a common concern we were hearing -- Sometimes players who wanted to capture a Moga would purchase Starseeds from the Skyshop, but then they would end up using all their Starseeds without capturing the Moga... such bad luck!Because Monster Galaxy's continued development is supported by the purchase of Star Coins, we wanted to address this concern and introduce a new way to capture Mogas using Star Coins.

The price depends on the rarity of the Moga... so if you think you are going to get lucky, you can throw Starseeds and hope for good luck. If you want to guarantee 100% success, you can pay Star Coins, and the price depends on the Rarity. The price is equivalent to the average number of seeds you need to use to capture a Moga of that rarity, so more than anything else, this option provides convenience for players who purchase Star Coins.

Q: How do I capture a Moga that is higher level than my Mogas?

A: Here is an example. Let's say you want to use your Starseeds to capture a Moga that is level 16, but your top level Moga is currently level 15. You will need to gain enough experience (from battles) to get to level 16, and then you will be able to capture the level 16 Moga.

Q: Why did you make this change?

A: We made this change in response to a loophole where users could "power level", constantly capturing mogas up to 2 levels above theirs instead of battling to gain experience and level up. This imbalanced the game and circumvented the need to gain experience through battling, as well as went against the whole idea that players get to choose which Moga they want to invest their time into, and focus on battling to train that moga and raise its level. It got pretty bad - many users didn't even realize that you were supposed to battle to gain experience, and were only playing the game through power leveling. It was an unfortunate situation that was harming our ability to continue developing the game, as battles and experience points weren't important enough.

Our goal is to make the best game possible and deliver a fun experience. We are testing these new features for half of our users to measure how well they work. It's always tough to make changes to the game balance and game logic, but when loopholes like "power leveling" are discovered and being exploited, they have to be addressed.

We have many more bug fixes, new features, game balance changes, and updates coming soon.

As always, we love our community, and listen to everything you say. We hope you enjoy Monster Galaxy. Thanks for the feedback, and thanks for playing!

• Which browser and version # are you using? Important: provide version # too (typically from the browser’s Help menu, then About ___).

• What’s happened EXACTLY and what was the error message/number?

• For trouble-shooting purposes, can you try the game with another Facebook account on the same computer? (create a test Facebook account if you don’t have one to test with)

• Again for trouble-shooting purposes, can you see if the same issue happens with another browser? Almost all Windows computers have Internet Explorer built-in and Firefox is free at (www.mozilla.org).

• What version of Flash do you have installed? Your Flash version must be 10 or higher in order to avoid unexpected issues. You can check your version typically by going to Control Panel | Add or Remove Programs and looking for Adobe Flash Player xx.

• Do you have a similar issue playing other Flash-based games on Facebook?

Why do I get a white or black screen every time I try to start the game?
The white or black screen is often caused by not having the latest version of Adobe Flash installed in your browser. Version 10 or later is required. To check which version of Flash you have and to get the latest version, click this link.
If you have the latest version of Flash installed but are still getting the white or black screen, please let us know by following the steps in the "best way to get support" FAQ here!

What does a “Oops! Something went wrong, we're going to have to restart” error mean?
This can happen if your browser setting has been changed to not accept 3rd party cookies. In order to play Monster Galaxy, your browser needs to be able to accept cookies. You can enable them very easily by following the steps outlined here for your browser.
What is the free Gryph/Daily Email Bonus?
If you have shared your email address with Monster Galaxy then you will receive an email for a free Gryph Moga within a few days after starting the game, and you will also receive daily email Mystery Boxes with a random gift! Click the link in the email and let Monster Galaxy completely load (important). Once it does you will see your Gryph or Mystery Box pop-up and you’ll be able to use it. Enjoy!
Note: The Gryph/Daily Email Bonus emails will not work if you try to use it on another account. It's a special one, made just for you! And the Daily Bonus can only be received after 24 hours from the last one you got. So if it didn't work for you, give it another shot after waiting at least 24 hrs.
How do I get more Blue Coffees? You can buy Blue Coffee at the Sky Shop or get it by fighting Mogas – they may drop Blue Coffee and other items.
How do I get more Starseeds? There are three ways to get Starseeds: 1. You can buy them from the Sky Shop. 2. You can collect one every eight hours. 3. You can receive them from your Daily Prize.
What is a Bonus Attack? This is a very special and powerful attack. It calls a friend's Moga in to attack for you, and uses a Whistle that you can harvest each day from your and your friend's Whistle Tree. Tip: Get lots of friends, so that you can harvest more Whistles daily!
How do I get more Whistle Trees? Add more Facebook friends! There are Whistle Trees in every homestead to harvest. Whistles are used during a Bonus Attack, to call in a friend's Moga to attack for you -- very powerful. Make sure to water your tree daily in order to grow more Whistles.
How do I heal/rest a monster? Take a nap or use Blue Coffee. You can rest your Mogas at Home by clicking on the Moga and selecting the nap icon (Zzzzz…) or click the Blue Coffee for instant healing. Alternatively, if you’re in battle with another Moga, you can use Blue Coffee for instant healing. Please note: you will lose a turn while battling after using Blue Coffee.
What is a Blue Coffee? Blue Coffee replenishes your health and attacks instantly. You can use Blue Coffee during battle or at Home for a quick energy boost as a fast alternative to napping.
What is a Starseed? Starseeds enable you to capture weakened Mogas and add them to your collection. Be careful not to use them just anytime, because you will lose a turn if the enemy Moga isn’t weak enough to be captured.
What is a Whistle Tree? Whistle Trees grow whistles which you can use to call on your Facebook friends to jump in and help you in battle.
Where can I find a Whistle Tree? You can find your own Whistle Tree at your Home. You can find Whistle Trees at your Friends’ Homes, and you can collect whistles from the Whistle Trees daily.
Why should my Mogas nap? Resting recharges your Moga's health and attacks. You can rest your Mogas at Home by clicking on the Moga, then selecting the nap icon (Zzzzz…).

ADVANCED

How do I capture a Moga? Enemy Mogas can be captured in battle when their health is low by throwing out a Starseed. The circle in the middle of your attacks will say "capture" when your enemy's health is low enough. Clicking the circle will tell you the likelihood of success and ask if you want to try to capture. You can also click "use item" on the right side to throw a Starseed. Be careful not to use Starseeds just anytime because you will lose a turn if your attempt fails.
It's freezing when I try to enter or start the game. Why? There can be many reasons why this is happening, so the fastest way to get to the root cause is to try a few tests in this order:

1) Are you able to play the game on a different computer? If yes, then we know it's something specific to your computer. Go to the next step.

2) Are you able to try the game using a different browser? Almost all Windows PCs have Internet Explorer installed on it, so can you try it with that? If you're already using IE, how about testing it with FireFox? (free at www.mozilla.org) If you can play Monster Galaxy in one browser but not another, then the cause is probably browser-specific. Try step 3.

3) Have you tried clearing your browser's cache?

Depending on what your root cause was, one of these steps should get you going. If one of the steps above resolved your issue, please tell us what your symptoms were and which step worked for you. Tell us by clicking the link at the bottom of this page and copy/paste this FAQ. Thanks for helping us help everyone else faster!
Can I restart or reset my game? We are working on a feature that will allow you to automatically, from within the game, choose a different starting Moga, load different save game files, and play the game from the beginning as many times as you want. This feature is targeted to be released in the next month or so. Until then, you can enjoy Monster Galaxy with your current game. Once these new features are released, you'll be able to start many different saved gamed files, choose another Moga, and have everything you ever wanted and more! Yay!!
Can I delete a Moga from my Team if I no longer want it? Sorry, but currently you cannot delete a Moga from your Team. Once you have caught a Moga it will remain in your collection. You can choose, however, not to use or level up that Moga. *Note: In the future, the ability to delete Mogas from your Team may be coming.
How do I store my Mogas? Or, I have too many Mogas running around. How can I clean it up? You can store your Mogas in your house (it looks like a tree house). Simply drag-and-drop a Moga onto the door of the house and the Storage panel will open, showing all the Mogas there along with the one you just added. You can also click on the door to access your Storage and pull a Moga out onto the area where the Mogas are frolicking.
Do I have to use real money to purchase stuff in the Sky Shop? Yes and no. You’ll need to purchase Star Coins (using Facebook Credits) in order to buy things in the Sky Shop. You can get Facebook Credits in a variety of ways, including via credit card, Paypal, mobile phone, and more. If you want to earn free Star Coins, you can get them via the various offers that are available in Monster Galaxy. Click the green Add button near Star Coins at the top of the screen and look for the Special Offers option.
I'm having a Facebook Credit issue. Who do I contact? Because the Credits are related to your Facebook account and not Monster Galaxy, Facebook's customer support team can help you with any Facebook Credits questions/issues. They can be contacted using this form. Tell 'em the Monster Galaxy folks said hi! :-)
How do I change my team? When at Home you can change your team through your Team tool. The Team tool is in the upper left corner. Click on a Moga and a pop-up will appear with the Moga’s information. If you have an open spot on your team just click the “Add to Team” button at the bottom of the Moga’s information.
How do I remove a Moga from my team? When at Home you can change your team through your Team tool. The Team tool is in the upper left corner. At the bottom of the Team window you will see a blue box with your three current Moga, simply click the orange “X” button in the corner of the Moga’s picture to remove them from your team.
How do I go back to the game from the Team Tab? Click the orange X in the upper right hand corner of the page.
Why don't I get a Daily Prize when I clicked the button in the email? The Daily Prize email is sent approximately every 24 hours, so if you didn’t receive it then it’s probably because it hasn’t been 24 hours since you last claimed your prize. For example, if you claimed a prize yesterday at 4pm and then tried to claim a prize today at 2pm, you would not receive it. However, if you try back in two hours at 4pm or later, you should receive your prize!
How do I level up a Moga? Fight, fight and fight some more! Each of your Mogas who damages the enemy and survives will gain a share of the defeated Moga's experience.
How many Mogas are there? Monster Galaxy has over 120 different Mogas. Can you catch them all?
What is the Team Tab for? The Team Tab keeps track of your collection of Mogas. You can mix and match your team, as well as watch the health and level status of your Mogas.
What is the Sky Shop? The Sky Shop is where you can buy more Blue Coffee and Starseeds to use in the game.
Why didn't I get my Facebook credits after finishing an Offer? Questions about offers are being handled by our 3rd party vendor Peanut Labs. You can contact them at this link: http://bit.ly/PeanutLabs Just fill out the form and they should be able to assist you.

Contacting Customer Support
